This church is a strong supporter of missions. As a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and thereby a strong contributor to the Cooperative Program, our undesignated tithes and offerings help send and support an estimated 10,000 missionaries appointed by the North American Mission Board and International Mission Board.
We also have men, women and youth who go on short-term local and international mission trips. The Family Ministry Center is a large part of the church’s outreach and ministry, where there are more than 2,000 visitors every month.
December 31, 2019 marked the end of a four year partnership with a Zendeh Church in Burnaby, Vancouver BC Canada. Zendeh Church reaches Farsi speaking Persian Muslim immigrants with the Gospel. During the four year partnership FBCD sent 7 teams, participated in the pastor’s ordination, supported the pastor by paying his automobile insurance, and funded (or nearly funded) all of the ministry conducted by the 7 teams.
In 2021 we began a four year partnership with Refuge Church in Joliet, MT. This new church is thriving and growing reaching youth and families in their community and beyond.
So far we have sent teams to assist them in their Sunday Serve Days and remodel work on their building. In July 2023 we were blessed to host a team of adults and youth from their church. While here, Pastor John preached and his team worked on projects on our campus and in Jefferson City and North St. Louis.
